Can someone give me information on the import/export business please?

Is anyone involved in the import export business and can give me valuable information. I am looking to start an import export business but am currently brainstorming and asking people question about what they lack to maybe find products that are in high demand but not enough supply...I have the starting capital i just need some opinions and thoughts.. I will base some of the products out of the Panama Free zone. I am looking to export to the Caribbean, central and south America. Can anyone give me their opinions??????
