Fallout 3 help, cant get more than 1 person in party...?

right now i have star palldan cross (from citidale) and i just bought the contract on the ghoul (in underworld) and he said there is to many poeple, and on the screen it pops up "you can only have one person in your party at a time" but on youtube i saw a guy with 4 people...help??
