Why did 59, 93, 000, people in Uk refuse to protest today. I heard the rest 7-10000 did.?

Thats less than 1% of population protested today against Israel despite huge preparation before by Hamas, to publicise it. Even the great Ken Livingstone was present and said he thought the turnout was greater than expected. ( Admittedly most of others were were promoting their own causes-Animal rights, etc.)
